Hi, we’re Butter 👋 the Lego set for modern video and motion graphics.

We started with a simple question: Why does making videos still feel so painful? Most tools are either too complex or too limiting. And while AI makes some things faster, it also takes something away — control, originality, humanity.

Butter takes a different approach. It makes video creation fast, playful, and modular, like building with Legos. You can edit, remix, and evolve your work endlessly instead of being stuck with rigid templates or one-off AI outputs.

Today, Butter powers video creation for thousands of brands including Crocs, Netflix, and Pinterest, and artists like Blackpink and Future.

We’re a small team of builders, creatives, and engineers obsessed with craft and focused on shaping the next generation of tools to unlock more human creativity.

About the Role

As our , you’ll build and grow Butter’s developer community.

You’ll define how developers understand Butter’s architecture, what they can build, and why they should care.

You’ll shape documentation, example projects, developer onboarding, and early ecosystem programs.

Your job is to make building on Butter obvious and worthwhile.

Domains You'll Own

• Developer documentation and onboarding
• Example projects and reference implementations
• SDK and API feedback loops
• Developer community programs
• Early marketplace participation

Overall You'll

• Clarify what Butter is for developers.
• Work with Product and Engineering to improve SDK and API design.
• Build sample Blocks and demo mini-apps.
• Engage directly with early developers and surface friction.
• Define incentives for third-party builders.
• Shape the early marketplace ecosystem.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in DevRel, platform, or developer-facing roles

• Strong technical fluency (JavaScript or web stack preferred)
• Clear communicator who can explain complex systems simply
• Comfortable building prototypes and example integrations
• Experience helping grow early-stage developer ecosystems

Bonus:
• Experience with creative coding, shaders, WebGL, p5.js

• Experience launching a marketplace or platform
